WHAT IS COMING UP:

The next 'The Power of the Mind' training will start in
Helsinki on Saturday 23rd of April. There will be free
introductions to this training at the Harmoniahuone office
on Tuesday 5th April and also on Tuesday 19th April, both
at 5pm. To find out more about this incredible training
program go to
http://www.mypowerfulmind.com/page/page/1819535.htm

Tony will be in Oulu (Finland) from 9th April to the 12th
April.

On the 9th and 10th he will be at the Harmoniahuone stand
at the Inspis-Messut (Well-being and inspiration fair) in
Pohjankartano. Please call in and say hello.

On Monday 11th Tony will have a free presentation from
5.30pm about the training that he is offering, and Sari
will do the same from 7pm. You are free to attend one or
both sessions. Don't be concerned that you may not
understand enough English for this - The language will be
simple and someone will help you if you need it. This will
be held in the Tetrantilat building, M?kelinkatu 31, in the
centre of Oulu. The room is on the basement level. (The ?
should be an a with dots!)

On Tuesday 12th April from 5 - 8pm Tony will run a
short training session on 'An Image of the Mind'. When we
think of something it usually brings a picture of that
thing into our mind. That picture helps us to understand
the thing we are thinking of. But if we start to think of
our mind, most of us do not have a clear picture of what
the mind is. In this training you will build a picture that
you can use to understand your mind. This training is 20
Euro per person. Once again, the English language
will be simple, and there will be someone that can help if
you need it. Click here

ACCEPTING REJECTED THOUGHTS

Sometimes we are in a position to look into the lives of
other people. It could be through a book, or a movie, or a
story we hear, or occasionally it could be someone that we
meet. Sometimes when this happens, we see qualities that we
truly admire, and we think that we would like to have those
qualities. Perhaps we just look at the person and think
that we would like to be like them. Maybe we hear what they
have said and think that we would like to be able to say
things like that. It could be that we would like to have
what they have, or do what they do.

When this happens, what we are thinking about are our own
rejected thoughts. Sometime in the past we have rejected a
thought or thoughts, that the person we are admiring has
accepted.

When, perhaps when we were very young, we rejected the
thought that we could have what we have just been admiring
in someone else, we accepted a lesser thought, and allowed
that lesser thought to become part of our self image, and
therefore part of our definition of ourselves.

Our self image lives in our sub-conscious mind. Because of
the way the sub-conscious mind works, we can only have one
self image with regard to any particular quality. If we
really want to have the qualities we are admiring, and
there is no reason why we can't, then we need to change our
self image.

The first step is to be prepared to do just that. Think
about this for a minute. Are you prepared to let go of what
you have learned in the past, that you believe is true
about yourself? By that I mean to examine the ideas that
you 'know' are true about yourself, and then to take the
new idea that you are considering, and to examine that
idea, entertain that idea, to see if it will improve your
view of yourself. Will accepting that new idea, and
rejecting the idea that you currently 'know', result in a
happier, healthier or more prosperous life. If the answer
is yes, and you are prepared to do it, then you have the
possibility to change your self image.

The methods we use to change our self image is outside the
scope of this article, but taking the above actions is the
first step.

If you are prepared to go through this process of examining
what you 'know' about yourself, and deciding to reject what
you 'know' and replace it with a more empowering 'fact',
when you see a quality in someone else that you admire, why
not do it more often?

Rather than merely listening to the messages, questions and
statements that flow past you every day, why not think? Ask
yourself what could this mean to me, how could I apply this
idea in my life. Forget the questions you have asked in the
past like 'Is this right?', or 'Is this wrong?' and ask
instead 'Could accepting this idea improve my life in any
way?'.

The 'Power of the Mind' training gives a deeper
understanding of how we can establish worthwhile and
meaningful goals, and then move toward achieving them day
by day. It also explains step by step how we can change our
Self Image. Go to

THE MIND, INFORMATION AND ATTITUDE

Information is flowing to us at a great rate. The radio,
television, the internet, advertising, newspapers and
magazines are giving us information all day. We also
receive information from the people we associate with in
our daily lives. This article discusses some of the ways
that our minds, both conscious and subconscious, process
and use that information.

Our conscious mind is active whenever we are awake. Within
the conscious mind are the abilities to think and reason.
However, just because we have the ability to think and
reason, does not mean that we always actually do that. For
much of the time our conscious mind is in a passive state,
just accepting all the input that is coming in, and not
evaluating that information at all.

What happens in our conscious mind is interesting to us
sometimes, but makes no difference to what happens in our
lives. It is only when the conscious mind takes some
information, and passes it to our subconscious (sometimes
called nonconscious or unconscious) mind, that it has an
effect on our lives and the results we get from our lives.

However, the subconscious mind has no ability to think or
reason. It simply takes whatever information is fed to it,
and acts on it. It makes no difference to your
sub-conscious mind if the information is helpful to you in
getting better life results or if it will do the opposite.
But it makes all the difference to you.

Unfortunately many of us do not understand how and when
this information is passed to our subconscious mind, and
are also not aware of how the subconscious mind uses the
information to produce the results we get in our lives.

For the purpose of this short article, if you can accept
that some of the information coming to you has an effect on
the results you get in your life, then the important
question is 'How can I control this process so that more of
the results I get are positive?'.

Fortunately there is a simple answer. If you exert more
control over the information that you receive, then you
start to exert more control over the information that
arrives into your sub-conscious mind. In turn this gives
you more control over the results you get.

So how do you do that? Simply put yourself in a position
where you expose yourself to less neutral and negative
information, and more positive information. How do you do
that? Evaluate the information that is flowing to you, and
reduce your exposure to information that is not likely to
contribute positively to your results.

When you start to look at your sources of information you
may find that some of the people in your life are not a
positive inspiration to you. Should you dissociate yourself
from them? Not necessarily, but spend less time with them
and do it less often. The same applies to television
programs that are not uplifting or thought provoking, and
to newspapers and magazines.

Similarly identify people who you aspire to be like in some
way, and find out how to spend time with them. Identify
reading material that will give you insights into life or
help you grow as a person. Biographies of successful people
might be a good example. Listen to self development CD's
when you are travelling.

What you expose yourself to, and focus on, expands, so
become a censor of information that you allow yourself to
be exposed to, which is not helpful in achieving the life
results you want, and a promoter of information which will
help.

FREE EBOOK:

The Go-Getter, A Story That Tells You How to be One, by
Peter B. Kyne

When I was first given a copy of this book, I read it from
cover to cover in one sitting. It is easy to read and
entertaining, but also paints a lasting picture in the mind
about the character of a Go-Getter.

Most of us have some sort of intuitive idea of what a
Go-Getter is like, but it is a difficult quality to
describe. When I came across this story, first published in
1921, I felt that it succeeded perfectly in describing the
way that a Go-Getter acts.

When Napoleon Hill was studying hundreds of successful
people, and analysing the characteristics that they had in
common, he found that they all had, among other things, the
ability to make decisions and then act on them, and they
also had mentors that they could go to for advice or to
compare themselves with.

Many people do not understand two important facts about
mentors. A mentor does not have to be personally known to
you, and does not have to be alive, or even a real person.
That may sound a little far fetched, but let me explain.

Ted Turner built a media communications empire and in the
process made himself a billionaire. He is both admired and
despised, but whatever we think of him, no-one can deny
that he is a Go-Getter. When Ted Turner was studying at
university his father, a practical and successful
businessman, was frustrated that Ted chose to study Greek
classics. He could not see how that study would help Ted
become successful in his life. What his father did not
understand, was that Ted was studying the legendary heros
of Greek mythology - the characters that siezed
opportunities, turned defeats into victories, and overcame
great obstacles. These characters became some of Ted's
mentors, and by studying them, Ted conditioned his mind to
get the same sort of results in his life.

When you have read this short story, you will have Bill
Peck as one of your mentors. When you are faced with
obstacles in your life, and you wonder how a Go-Getter
would handle them, you will know enough about the character
of Bill Peck, to understand how he would have reacted. Then
you understand how a Go-Getter would react, and you are
able to choose to act that way yourself, if you wish.

This version of the book is almost identical to the
original publication, but I have made a few changes to
modernise the language in places where the original words
are no longer in common English usage.

To get your copy of this book, go to
http://www.mypowerfulmind.com/page/page/1653420.htm and
enter your email address in the box at the bottom of the
page. You will receive an email telling you how to get the
book.

Enjoy this short story, but don't stop there. Use it to
improve the results that you are getting in your life, by
having a Go-Getter as a mentor.
